My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location is Knoxville, NY

Meet Jay Jay! He is a cattle dog mix from a litter with two sisters and 5 brothers! Jay Jay is curious, sweet, energetic, and adventurous.  He loves to climb and explore new places and things.  He and his siblings love all kinds of toys, including ones that crinkle or squeak. Their favorite toy is the flirt pole where they can chase and pounce, or really anything that dangles and can be caught, even your cleaning paper towels. He loves belly rubs and nibbling hands. There isn't a challenge this litter can't tackle.

His date of birth was 02/27/2024, so he was 8 weeks on 4/23/2024 and has already had the first round of vaccinnations and two cycles of deworming. He is scheduled to be microchipped. He will come with a spay/neuter contract due to his age. Jay Jay is a very intense stereotypical cattle dog, and therefore an ACD experienced home is preferred. He lives to explore and would benefit greatly from guidance and training.  He already sits for his meals and has been working on potty training, but will need continued work in that arena as well. If you are interested in adopting Jay Jay, please complete an application, or reach out to me with any questions.

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer group that rescues Australian Cattle Dogs. Our dogs reside in foster homes until they are adopted
Every year, thousands of Australian Cattle Dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Although the reasons are diverse, the result is the same. Healthy, adoptable dogs face euthanasia in shelters.

The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association rescues ACDs in shelters from Maine to Georgia and gives these dogs a fresh start with a loving family. Our foster home volunteers welcome the dogs into their homes where they live as members of the family. During the time in foster care, our volunteers determine what kind of forever home will be the right one for each dog.
