My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Abbott is awesome. He LOVES attention. He's happy, friendly, loving, attentive, affectionate, goofy, energetic and playful and does well with other dogs. He loves to play ball and is drawn to water. We don't have a pool here but if we run the hose or it rains he likes to play in the water so we suspect he might love to swim. We'd love a fun, adventurous, active, loving and attentive family for Abbott. He would do well with another dog in the home to pal around with but most importantly attentive humans that that he can buddy with and who will appreciate all the love and goofiness he has to offer. He likes to stay close to his people showing an admirable devoted quality that we just adore. He's quite well rounded though because he also likes meeting new people. Abbott weighs 75 lbs, is estimated to be around 6 years old, is neutered, up to date with vaccinations and micro-chipped. He's currently in foster care and available for meet and greets pending application approval. If interested, please email adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org for an application. Abbott will be waiting :)

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We are dedicated to ensuring that our dogs go to a "forever" loving, nurturing home. As a result, our process is stringent, requiring an application, home visit, vet and reference checks and an adoption contract. We want the adoption to be a match made in heaven for both the new adoptive parents and the adopted dog.

Go meet their pets

We provide adoption opportunities for those living in the Northeast who are willing to do long distance adoptions. Many of our dogs live in Wharton, Texas but we have very safe, reliable transport to the Northeast.

More about this rescue

Smiling Dog Farms is a 501(c) non-profit animal rescue. We strive to restore hope to the forgotten, neglected and rejected unwanted dogs and puppies rescued from the streets and local kill-shelters. Each dog that enters our rescue receives their full round of vaccinations, gets spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and placed on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. Many of our dogs live in Wharton Texas, but we have very safe, reliable transport to the Northeast.
