My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're searching for the most devoted and loving best friend ever....Jaxson is the pup you want to have around! Jaxson, at 2 years old and 23 lbs is just naturally a lover, and when he looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt.

Jaxson is a beautiful and sweet as can be Miniature Schnauzer / Cairn Terrier mix with all the traits that make these super- smart and personality-plus dogs very popular and beloved breed mixes.

Farfel's received a plea from Rescued Pets Movement in Houston to save the life of Jaxson who was scheduled for euthanasia due to a lack of space. They described this Schnauzer / Terrier mix as wonderful, sweet and just about perfect in his temperament and general demeanor.

Jaxson is a super - cuddler and snuggler all the way! He loves to to cuddle close on the couch for TV watching or just hanging out with his favorite people is just about perfect for this sweet best friend. An occasional kiss from Jaxson, once comfortable in his new home, is inevitable. He's a sensitive and very kind dog who derives so much joy from his time spent with his favorite people and his doggy friends.

Jaxson is a young, playful and silly pup who will love his family with all his heart. He would enjoy another gentle dog to play with, although it's not necessary if his family is involved and present.

Jaxson will have so much fun exploring, and taking long walks and hikes along Colorado's gorgeous paths and trails. Hiking and socializing with other hikers is right down this friendly and active guy's alley. He is always open to new activities with a never-ending positive attitude...just say the word and up Jaxson jumps for a car ride, a fun backyard game or just a sociable walk around the neighborhood.

Jaxson's rescuer had the following to brag about this sweet guy: Jaxson is an extremely affectionate and loving dog once he's comfortable in his new situation! We would love to see him in a home with a family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet pup. We'd hate to see Jaxson left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home. He seems too sensitive for that type of arrangement. Jaxson will thrive on spending the days near his people...getting loved up, periodically throughout the day is a dream come true for our sweet and loving Jaxson.

Jaxson's Texas foster mom shared the following with us: This gorgeous guy is initially shy and reserved. It makes perfect sense considering all the changes he's been through. But after a short time, there will be a whole lot of tail wagging when Jaxson is around. His joy just overflows when people are kind and loving to him. He'll be by your side to be a best friend and loving companion. The family lucky enough to bring Jaxson into their home will be thrilled with their new and wonderful family member!

Farfel's would like to see Jaxson in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A virtual or in-person positive reinforcement training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important to the future behaviors of every dog that we're unwilling to adopt Jaxson out to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area.

Joey appears to be a non-shedding or lightly shedding guy. He will therefore require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are great lifelong protocols for coat care and general health) to keep his coat cottony-soft and very healthy.

Jaxson has been fully vetted and vaccinated to support Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to be a part of the solution to the tragic overpopulation in the canine population.

Jaxson will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 5/4/2024. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, loving and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Jaxson please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
