My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Fred Mertz of our I Love Lucy quartet a group of four feline-leukemia positive kittens that came to Kitten Rescue from an LA County shelter sure is one striking gentleman! His unique tuxedo markings make him stand out in the crowd almost as much as his quirky personality does. And is he quirky! For example he loves to play with a human hand trying to pet him so the humans in his forever home may find themselves in that constant game of what is faster: their hands? Or Fred's paws?Fred can also be exceptionally sweet and he will readily accept human attention (until he decides to play the chase the hand game). He's very curious too when any shenanigans start Fred is always first on scene to find out what is going on and then he gets caught up in the thick of it. And he plays with other cats so we think he'll do well in a forever home either as a solo kitty or with a leukemia-positive buddy. Now we are sure Fred's quirkiness and handsome looks are calling to you. Don't you want to meet him?If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him please email the Sanctuary: manager@kittenrescue.org

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
