My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Taffy,

Female
Domestic Short Hair
approx. 2 years old

Here's a little insight into my background and personality: I'll be your sidekick, I'm just plain good company. I like getting attention but I also like my solitude. I don't go looking for trouble but I'm no scaredy-cat either. If you're looking for a steady companion to travel with you on the road, look no further, I'm your girl!

My reactions to:

Cats & Dogs - I can be selective with other furry friends, I would do best in a home without other pets.
Meeting new people - I can be nervous and sour when meeting new people at first. Things take time with me, I will purr and show affection on my own terms.
Children - I don't have much interaction with children. If there are children in the home I'd prefer a calm & slow introduction once I'm ready
Litterbox - I use my litterbox with ease. Some might even say I'm a pro!
Stressful situations - Thankfully I haven't experience many stressful situation during my time at the shelter. Though I am very cautious with ceiling fan noises.
Playtime - I enjoy playing though much rather prefer hunting my toy mouse & bird.
Food - I can be picky with dry food though LOVE wet food (especially the kind with chunks)

Additional adoption info

All pets available for adoption through the Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and will have received a parasite preventative or treatment. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs and $175 for cats plus tax. If applicable, the purchase of a pet license will be required at the time of adoption.

Before considering pet adoption, potential pet parents are encouraged to do their own research on the type of pet that they are interested in adopting. Different breeds, for example, can have very different exercise needs or may be prone to certain genetic conditions. It is also a good idea to speak with your local veterinarian to gain insight about the type of pet you are considering adopting and the initial and yearly animal care costs involved with pet ownership.

All adoptions require an application and an in person or phone consultation prior to be being approved.
