My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Tulip,

Female - spayed
Domestic Short Hair
Approx. 11 years old

I embody the grace and quietude of a true lady. I may not be your average frolicsome feline; I treasure my solitude and prefer basking in peaceful corners, though I cherish my independence I do have a sweet spot for affection on my own terms. Searching for a companion who respects your space yet offers moments of tender connection, I might just be the mature savvy senior you've been searching for!

My reactions to:

Cats & Dogs - I can be selective with my furry friends, for the time being I'd prefer to be the only queen of the castle
Meeting New People - I can be cautious and timid when meeting new people, allow me to warm up on my own terms and we'll soon be friends
Children - As I prefer to live a mature relaxed lifestyle, I wouldn't mind the company of an older calm child.
Litterbox - As a savvy senior I have lots of experience using my litterbox, you don't have to worry about me!

Additional adoption info

All pets available for adoption through the Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and will have received a parasite preventative or treatment. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs and $175 for cats plus tax. If applicable, the purchase of a pet license will be required at the time of adoption.

Before considering pet adoption, potential pet parents are encouraged to do their own research on the type of pet that they are interested in adopting. Different breeds, for example, can have very different exercise needs or may be prone to certain genetic conditions. It is also a good idea to speak with your local veterinarian to gain insight about the type of pet you are considering adopting and the initial and yearly animal care costs involved with pet ownership.

All adoptions require an application and an in person or phone consultation prior to be being approved.

More about this shelter

Services Include:

Temporary housing for stray/vulnerable owned pets
Reuniting lost pets with their owners

Pet licenses aid in the fast return of a lost pet to its owner. They provide an immediate visual clue to anyone who finds the pet, which often results in the pet not having to be brought into an animal shelter.
