My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mindy, the two-month-old puppy, carries the spirit of joy and resilience, having been discovered on Springbrook Circle. Her journey, though short, is already filled with tales of adventure and serendipity. As a happy pup, Mindy's days are spent exploring her new surroundings, learning with eagerness, and spreading cheer to everyone she meets. Her bright eyes and wagging tail are a testament to her unbreakable spirit and the love she has to offer. Mindy's story is a heartwarming reminder of the unexpected joys that can come from the most surprising places, embodying the essence of discovery and the beginning of a new chapter filled with hope, learning, and lots of playful moments.

More about this shelter

Concern over a large, and ever increasing, population of homeless dogs and cats, instigated the opening of the Monroe County Animal Shelter.
A not-for-profit organization, Monroe County Friends of Animals help the shelter by providing volunteers, fundraising events, grant writing and more. There is always a need for more volunteers. With a small budget, donations are a welcome necessity. We have developed educational programs to promote spay/neuter and humane care of all animals.
