My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***AT SHELTER***

Crunch is soft and sweet on the inside!

Not long ago, Crunch was a stray cat who found his way to EHS after a long journey from Quebec. After living a tough life on the streets and fending for himself, he is now ready for his forever home in which he can share his love and cuddles. After some initial coaxing when you first meet him, Crunch's affectionate self emerges and melts your heart.

Upon arriving at the shelter, Crunch was very quiet but friendly. He started accepting pets by hand quickly and has slowly started to enjoy them with a back-scratcher too. This boy loves to have his adorable cheeks rubbed, and he also appreciates a good butt scratch! Crunch seems interested in befriending other cats and spends a lot of time looking at them or showing off his belly while chilling in his bed. Sometimes he feels a little timid, perhaps overwhelmed by his environment, and hides under his bed. (Hey, who doesn't get overwhelmed sometimes?)

Crunch is an excellent communicator, letting people know when to give him space with a little hiss, and slow blinking when he feels more comfortable and is ready to be approached. He has been a good-natured boy with our volunteers, with no swatting or nipping, and he will be a wonderful companion to any person who is able to read his body language and respect his boundaries.

We can't say how Crunch would do in a home with young children or dogs, but his keen interest in other cats at the shelter indicates he may enjoy a home with another friendly feline. Crunch would do best in a home where he is given the time and space to feel safe and slowly come out of his shell. While initially shy, his inner soft and sweet nature will inevitably show once he feels secure.
