Greetings from Layla the Lovebug. My brother Oriel and I were surrendered to CARE by our previous owners. Being left at the shelter was a traumatic experience, but I’ve settled into my new surroundings and have wiggled my way into the hearts of the staff and volunteers. They tell me I’m an eternal puppy who makes friends with everyone (a bit hesitant with certain men) and never runs out of energy.

I crave attention and affection, especially pets on my head, chin, and neck. I like being as close as possible to people and am at my calmest when being shown love. Walks—I call them “sniffs”—are another favorite activity. My walking style is erratic, as I like to move from side-to-side to make sure I don’t miss anything. So I’ll definitely need you to work with me on my leash manners. I’m always up for a game of chase the ball or squeaky and am really good about returning my toys and dropping them at your feet—anything to keep you playing with me. I don’t seem to have had any obedience training and am just starting to learn some basic commands. But please keep teaching me, because I’m very treat-motivated and will work for rewards. I’m potty trained and tolerate my crate, although I do bark when left alone.

So…are you looking for a loving shadow who will keep you company through thick and thin and make you smile even when you’re feeling down? Then your search is over. Please fill out an adoption application right away and come and meet me. I’ll be waiting for you!

I have been spayed and microchipped and have had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325.00. For more information or if you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption survey at carenorthshore.org/dog-adoption-survey

Love & licks,
Laila

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
