My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MAKEDA is a silky, black young adult female kitty with gorgeous golden eyes. She loves sitting in her cat tree, observing the home from her perch.    While it may take her a short time to warm up to new situations, once she’s comfortable, she proves herself to be very gentle and sweet-natured.  Makeda can be made more comfortable with treats and affection, and you won't regret taking the time to earn the trust of this sweetheart of a cat.  She really enjoys being able to watch and observe what's going on in the home, which is her version of Cat TV, and she will greet you at the door when you come home.   When she wants attention, she’ll come up to let you know with a nose boop that she'd like some back rubs. Makeda was brought to our rescue when her owner found they had too many cats to care for. Now she’s ready for her own loving forever home that will appreciate her sweet and calming presence.

MAKEDA has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. You can meet MAKEDA and ROSALIE at the cattery inside our partner PetSmart in North Eugene (2847 Chad Dr, across from Costco) beginning Thursday 5/9.  Please submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store, and an adoption counselor will contact you to set up a meet and greet. The $155 adoption fee ($280 with Rosalie) allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for cats and kittens of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette; PetCo by Valley River Center and Wags Dog Emporium on Coburg Rd. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help Cat Rescue & Adoption Network save as many animal lives as possible.
