My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tank: Big love in a 25-pound package! ❤️

Tank is a friendly 2-3 year old Terrier Mix with a heart as big as his charming personality! This handsome 25-pound boy is looking for his forever home where he can shower you with all the love and affection he has been saving for his forever family.

Tank's Story

Tank is sadly the victim of circumstances beyond his and his former owner’s control. When his owner became ill and had to undergo surgery, she could no longer care for Tank. Sadly, Tank’s owner could not find anyone to take Tank in so she had no other choice but to take him to the shelter. Unfortunately, the only shelter nearby was a high-kill shelter. When we saw him so sad and scared in the dark and foreboding shelter, we knew that we had to help give this sweet boy a second chance at the happy life he's always wanted!

What Makes Tank Special

Tank is The Perfect Companion:

*Absolutely adores people – men, women, and children alike!
*Stands on his hind legs reaching out for attention and wanting to show you he cares (it's impossibly adorable!)
*Equally happy playing energetically or snuggling on the couch- he’s a multitasker at making every moment feel special
*Gets along wonderfully with other dogs after a brief 15-minute introduction

Low Maintenance:

*Short hair requiring only occasional baths and brushing
*No special dietary needs or medical issues
*Completely house-trained with no accidents
*Eats regular dog food

Tank's Ideal Home

Tank would excel in a home with:

*A warm, cozy environment (this little guy is NOT a fan of cold weather or snow!)
*Standard fencing for safe outdoor time
*Patient owners who understand he can be spooked by loud noises on walks
*Possibly another dog friend to play and nap with
*People who love to give (and receive) plenty of genuine affection from a pup that is grateful to have a forever family

Good to Know

*House Training: Fully house-trained, goes out 4 times daily
*Sleeping: Can sleep crate-trained or in a room with a dog bed; sleeps soundly through the night
*Leash Skills: Walks well on leash, but hold on tight during loud noises
*With Other Pets: Great with dogs his size and larger; not yet tested with cats
*With Children: Sweet and gentle nature suggests he'd do wonderfully with well-behaved kids

What His Foster Says

"Tank is a wonderful little boy. He would make a great addition to any home."
