My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster mom says I am a character. I am a little bit of a cranky old man, but once you have earned my trust, I love headbutting you and getting my face scritched. I love getting food, sitting in the sun, playing in my crinkle tunnels, and chatting with you about my day. I am front declawed, but still use the litterbox perfectly.

I like interacting on my terms, so I will do best in a house with no kids or older kids who can respect when I do not want to be pet. My new family will need to be patient with me when I first get there, as it will probably take a few weeks for me to relax enough to want to be friends. I would like to be adopted with my buddy Kooks. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationMay 9, 2025, 6:44 am

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
