Hello! My name is Shakey-Bakey because I have the happiest tail & I'm always shaking it. I am a handsome big solid guy with lots of love to give but, like some humans, I do have a jealous streak so I will need to be an only cat in my new home. I haven't been around dogs so I'm not sure what I'd think of them. I'm a good boy about manicuring my claws on the appropriate surfaces and I like both vertical & horizontal styles. I'm not super playful but do have my spurts of enjoying batting things about. Really, the thing I want is someone who would love a big ol' lap cat with a loud motor to adopt & make their home a happier place. Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.

Founded in 1992 the Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 20 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives including over 600 last this year. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation
