Miss Rubia is a wonderful (and quirky!) old lady who came to the sanctuary with her son, Jack, after her family could no longer care for them. Rubia is 30+ years old and is doing pretty well - just needs some TLC to protect her from the flies and a few supplements to keep her looking and feeling her best. She no longer eats hay - she eats soaked hay pellets 3 times a day. Jack has been adopted to a home with other donkey friends and Rubia has been content living with Lucky mule and a couple of older horses. She is still considered adoptable, but we would only send her to the perfect home very close to Kanab. If you have an older donkey looking for a companion, and you live close to the sanctuary, come over and meet our lovely girl!
