Shadow is a gentle and gorgeous four-year-old Sharpei mix with a soft white coat and an even softer heart. While he can be shy at first, especially around new people, Shadow quickly warms up and reveals his sweet, playful spirit.
One of Shadow’s most endearing quirks is his signature “kangaroo hops.” When he’s excited or happy, he bounces with pure joy, turning even an ordinary greeting into a heart-melting moment. His foster describes how he lights up when they come home, leaping around the house with happiness.
Shadow is both potty and crate trained, and though he’s still learning to walk confidently on a leash, he’s making steady progress. He understands simple commands like sit, down, and come, especially when there’s food involved — treats, particularly duck treats, are his greatest motivator. Once he trusts you, Shadow is very gentle when taking them.
Though he doesn’t care much for toys, Shadow thrives on human connection. He's great with adults, kids, cats and other dogs. He hasn’t shown food or toy aggression, and while car rides make him nervous, his calm temperament and eagerness to please make him a wonderful companion.
The ideal home for Shadow is one with a fenced in backyard, where he’ll be showered with love and patience, surrounded by people who see the joy in his quirky kangaroo hops and celebrate his gentle soul. With consistency and affection, Shadow will blossom into the devoted best friend every dog lover dreams of.
