My name is Macarena!

Meet Macarena, a very special girl who is around 6 years old and full of the softest, sweetest love. Her journey began in the mountains of Puerto Rico, where she was rescued and given a second chance at life. She has been waiting so patiently for her forever family, and she truly deserves one.

Macarena has a gentle heart and does well with humans of all ages. She even spent time with an infant and was calm, patient, and so loving. She can do well with another dog after a slow, thoughtful introduction, but she would also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as the only pet.

She does have a skin condition that we are still working to fully diagnose, but she manages it beautifully with medicated baths, protective clean shirts, and some simple creams and ointments. She doesn’t let any of it dull her joy. She just needs someone who can offer her consistency, kindness, and basic care while we continue supporting her.

Macarena loves wearing her little shirts, loves being close to her people, and has that old-soul sweetness that makes you feel calm just being near her. She is the kind of dog who would happily ride shotgun on your errands, watch movies curled up by your side, or join you for peaceful morning walks.
