My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luna is a truly wonderful 4 to 5 year old, about 30 pound girl looking for her forever home in the Tampa Bay area. She has been through a lot, having spent three years with a family before suddenly losing her home, but she has shown just how resilient and loving she is.

Luna is playful and silly and loves catching toys in the air rather than fetching them. She is incredibly affectionate and cuddles every night in bed and on the couch, giving endless kisses to her people. She has a dog friend named Domino in her foster home and absolutely loves playing with him. Once properly introduced, she has done beautifully with other dogs and even enjoys snuggling with them. She would thrive in a home with another friendly dog or as a spoiled solo pup.

She enjoys walks at a good pace and would make a great companion for biking or jogging, but she is not hyper. She is a very curious pup and her energy level is very balanced and easy to live with.

Luna has made huge progress with her anxiety. Thunderstorms and fireworks used to be very stressful for her, but she has improved so much and now only shows mild nervousness like hiding or panting. When she feels unsure, she leans against her person for comfort. She does seem to prefer men, but her foster mom is her safe place and favorite human, which shows how deeply she bonds once she trusts you.

She is dog and kid approved, but because she can get protective if kids are roughhousing, she would do best with respectful children who understand dog boundaries.  A calm home environment would be ideal for her to continue thriving.

Luna is a submissive girl with food and waits politely for her turn, though she does eat quickly and can occasionally vomit if she eats too fast. She is not food aggressive at all. In a multi dog home, she tends to be the more dominant personality but still plays and coexists beautifully.

We are heartbroken for what Luna has been through after being surrendered and now waiting a year in foster for her forever home for no fault of her own, but are so hopeful for her future. She has so much love to give and deserves a family who will cherish her forever. Could that be you?

Additional adoption info

All of our dogs and cats come spayed/neutered and vaccinated! Some of the pups will only have their first round of shots and may need rabies if they are under 3 months old. But other than that, these babies come ready to go! Our adoption fees vary, please inquire about each dog's individual fees. We do have cats and kittens available from time to time, so please inquire if you are looking for a feline pal! With their vetting, flights and care, we only ask for the adoption donation to help offset costs and make sure our adopters are serious. We love our rescues like we love our family. They mean the world to us and we just want to see them in good loving homes! And please check back as we are always adding new rescues to this page.
