My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Luna  — your loyal, loving sidekick with a heart full of sunshine!

Luna is a wonderful 4–5-year-old, 30-pound sweetheart looking for her forever family in the Tampa Bay area. After spending three happy years with her previous family, she suddenly lost her home — but this brave girl hasn’t let heartbreak dim her light. She’s proven just how resilient, affectionate, and full of fun she truly is.

 All About Luna:

  • Playful and silly — she loves catching toys midair and showing off her skills!

  • A champion cuddler who adores bedtime snuggles, couch naps, and giving endless kisses.

  • Great with other dogs (she loves her foster brother, Domino!) and enjoys having a canine buddy, though she can also thrive as a spoiled only pup.

  • Balanced energy — she’s always up for a good walk, bike ride, or jog, but just as happy relaxing at home.

 Her Gentle Spirit:
Luna has come so far with her anxiety! She used to worry during storms and fireworks but now stays calm with just mild nervousness. When she’s unsure, she leans on her person for comfort — a sweet reminder of her trust and bond. She tends to prefer men but loves her foster mom deeply, showing that once she connects, her loyalty runs deep.

 Her Ideal Home:
Luna is both kid- and dog-approved! She’d do best with respectful children who understand dog boundaries and in a calm environment where she can feel secure. She’s polite with food, a little quick eater, and overall just an easy, loving companion who gets along beautifully with everyone she trusts.

Luna has been waiting patiently for her forever home for over a year — through no fault of her own. She’s kind, loyal, silly, and so full of love to give. Could you be the one to show this amazing girl that she’s finally home for good?

Additional adoption info

All of our dogs and cats come spayed/neutered and vaccinated! Some of the pups will only have their first round of shots and may need rabies if they are under 3 months old. But other than that, these babies come ready to go! Our adoption fees vary, please inquire about each dog's individual fees. We do have cats and kittens available from time to time, so please inquire if you are looking for a feline pal! With their vetting, flights and care, we only ask for the adoption donation to help offset costs and make sure our adopters are serious. We love our rescues like we love our family. They mean the world to us and we just want to see them in good loving homes! And please check back as we are always adding new rescues to this page.

More about this rescue

We approach each every situation with an open mind. We work to build respect and trust with the partners, communities and countries we work in. With their acceptance, we build a plan together to meet the most pressing issues. We listen, learn and solve the needs together. We look for solutions that are integrated, scale-able, and sustainable. At Compassion Kind, we work with governments, institutions, local leaders, civil society organizations, foundations and businesses around the world to ensure that the most vulnerable beings are heard, and that they get the assistance they need to sustain from within the communities. Our teams and partners advocate for capacity building training and grass roots techniques so we make a lasting impact, create measurable change and operate as efficiently as possible.
