Meet Chai, a sweet 6-7-year-old, 22-pound Schnauzer who came to CAMO as a stray. Chai is shy, but beneath that gentle exterior is a loving heart just waiting to blossom. She needs a patient adopter who can give her the time and consistency she needs to come out of her shell and build confidence. She is fearful of men but will learn to live with one that is calm and willing to work with her. She prefers women. She is the type of dog that needs left alone to come to you then you will gain her trust.
She is both dog- and cat-friendly and would do best in an adult-only home where her need for space is respected. She loves running around the yard, and if she's comfortable with you, she enjoys pets and affection. She loves to play fetch and is active with other dogs and enjoys dog parks. CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community.
