Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Ghost — A Gentle Soul Who’s Come So Far
Ghost’s journey is one of patience, growth, and quiet transformation. When he first came into rescue, he was overwhelmed by the world—vocal, reactive, and unsure of his surroundings. Today, that same dog has blossomed into a calm, affectionate, and laid-back companion who shows just how powerful love and consistency can be.
Now about almost 8 years old, Ghost is a striking white Pit Bull mix with a soft presence and a deeply loving heart. He is deaf, which once made navigating the world confusing, but he has learned beautifully that safety, routine, and trust can replace fear. Ghost communicates through connection—eye contact, body language, and a quiet devotion to his people.
Because he cannot hear other dogs’ cues, Ghost can occasionally misread interactions. For that reason, he would do best as an only pet or with a very calm, respectful dog companion who understands his needs. That said, Ghost recently attended an adoption event and did exceptionally well—remaining calm and interacting politely with other dogs. His progress has been remarkable.
Ghost now enjoys the simple, peaceful things in life:
Relaxing car rides
Carrying or gently tossing his toys
Lounging quietly near his people
Forming deep, loyal bonds with those he trusts
His foster describes him as sweet, gentle, loyal, and affectionate once he feels secure. With time and care, Ghost has truly mellowed, transforming from anxious and reactive to relaxed and confident.
Special Notes:
Neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines
Adoption includes six complimentary training sessions with A Pawsitive Alternative Dog Training (Paul Kline) for Treasure Valley adopters
A beautiful custom painting of Ghost, donated by one of his biggest fans, will go home with his adopter
Ghost is ready to find his forever person—someone patient, kind, and understanding of a dog who listens with his heart instead of his ears. If you are looking for a loyal, steady companion who has already done the hard work of healing, Ghost is ready to meet you.

We require a foster or adoption application to qualify to foster or adopt our animals. We do check your current veterinary reference and landlord approval if renting. The next step is a "meet and greet" with all family members and/or household occupants, and current pets. Upon approval, we offer a "trial adoption" period that allows adopter to make sure of a good fit for both the dog and family. Adoption is final when adoption contract (different from application) is filled out and signed, and adoption fee is paid. Our adoption fees range from $75 - $300 (puppies) currently, but are subject to revision if our veterinary costs rise. Due to recent website issues please submit application at www.friendsfureveranimalrescue.net if the .com link provided does not work
