My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cappuccino: Your Future Best Friend (With a Side of Goofiness)

Hey there, future family! My name is Cappuccino, but you can call me Cap or Cappy. I'm looking for a loving foster or adoptive home where I can learn, grow, and continue perfecting my already impressive good-boy skills.

Why You Need Me in Your Life:
✔️ I’m getting braver around strangers—slowly but surely!
✔️ My leash skills are improving, meaning fewer "why are you walking ME?" moments.
✔️ Treats? Love ‘em. Training? Easy—just keep the snacks coming.
✔️ Once I know you, I’m a total lovebug—friendly, playful, and always ready for fun!
✔️ I’m more confident than some of my siblings (natural-born leader over here).
✔️ I get along great with other dogs—instant besties!
✔️ I’ve had some housetraining, so I’m already on my way to being a respectable citizen.
✔️ I might be able to live with a dog-savvy cat… but I get very excited, so supervision is a must!
✔️ Good with poultry – chickens are cool, I respect their space

My Quirks (AKA "Endearing Challenges")
❌ Young kids? Not my best match right now.
❌ I need some time to adjust to new people and places—patience is key!

If you’re willing to help me become the best version of myself, fill out a foster or adoption application! Bonus: You’ll get a free week of training with GoodPup, and foster homes can receive up to three free training classes with Dogs R Plus in Cameron.

So, what do you say? Wanna wake up to Cappuccino every morning? ☕🐶💙

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Barron County is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter serving Barron County and surrounding areas.

Established in 1978 by a small but dedicated group of core volunteers, the HSBC started out with these volunteers taking animals into their own homes and advertising the need for forever homes for these animals. Over the years, since this humble beginning the HSBC has grown into the organization that it is today. From the homes of volunteers, relying on fundraising and the generous donations of our community, we have grown into and remain in our home on Guy Avenue in Barron.

HSBC is operated by a small staff and relies heavily on volunteers, as well as funds from donations, adoptions, memberships and fundraisers to keep our doors open for the animals needing our assistance.

We sincerely thank you for making this possible.
