SIZE: 64 pounds and growing!
HOME TYPE: Any possible
CHILDREN: No - must be an adult only home - does not know his size and needs lots of work on difficult behaviours
CATS & SMALL ANIMALS: No - Large dog that plays rough
OTHER DOGS: Yes - potentially compatible with other dog
ACTIVITY/ENERGY LEVEL: High; will need a lot of daily exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation.
HUMAN COMPATIBILTY: A family with large dog experience necessary
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/NEEDS: Minimum 3 in-person training sessions to work on the following; Basic training, Basic manners (Jumping up, mouthing, self control), Socialization, Bite Inhibition
HUMAN SOCIAL IN SHELTER: Very human social loves to say hello to everyone

KNOWN TRAINING CUES: He knows sit! He is very treat motived, and can learn anything with consistency.
HUMAN SOCIAL: He is so friendly! Bear loves all people. He is very happy when he is around humans!

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
