Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Athena “Baby Girl”
Athena will need a patient, understanding family familiar with the 3:3:3 rule — 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn each other’s routines, and 3 months to truly fall in love.
She’s a gentle soul who takes her time warming up to new people. Though shy at first, her curiosity shines through — she likes to be nearby, quietly observing what’s going on around her.
Athena is fully house trained and will let you know when she needs to go out (or she’ll use the dog door if available!). She gets along well with cats and calm, respectful dogs, and she returns that same calm energy.
While she may never be a snuggly lap dog, she loves to keep her foster mom in sight — she just wants to feel included.
With patience, consistency, and kindness, this sweet “baby girl” will blossom and thrive in a loving, peaceful home.

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is open every day from noon to 6pm (excluding limited holidays/events). You can meet our adoptable animals with the convenience of an appointment or as a walk-in. Appointments can be made by emailing adoption@wilcotx.gov.
In addition to our main shelter at 1855 SE Inner Loop, Georgetown, TX 78626, you can also meet adoptable dogs at our satellite location, the Red Poppy Adoptique, located at 110 W L Walden Dr, Georgetown, TX 78626.
Interested in fostering a dog in need? Join our foster team at www.wilcotx.gov/390/Fostering and click on `Foster Questionnaire.`
Looking for a fun way to make a difference? Try our Doggy Day Out program! Take one of our pups on an adventure for a few hours-giving them a much-needed break from the shelter while you enjoy some quality time. The program runs at both locations daily starting at noon.
We always welcome your dogs to come and meet our dogs, too! We`ll see you soon at either location!
