My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Alastair! 🐾💙
Alastair is a 2.5-year-old terrier weighing 47 lbs with a big heart and lots of potential, just waiting for the right home. He can take a little time to warm up, but once he feels comfortable, his affectionate and loyal nature truly shines.

Alastair is a high-energy dog who needs an active home where he can burn off energy through play, exercise, and enrichment. He will do best in a house with space (no apartments) and must be the only pet—no dogs and no cats. He’s also looking for an adult-only home where he can build a strong bond with his people in a calm, predictable environment.

With patience, consistency, and love, Alastair will flourish into a devoted companion. If you’re an active person looking for a dog who will form a deep connection and reward your effort with loyalty and affection, Alastair may be the perfect match. 🐾

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
