Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bella is a beautiful medium sized brindle terrier Mix breed who is very much misunderstood. Sure, she gives an imposing first impression, but once you give her a few minutes to warm up to you, you will see why we here at AWL just love her. She needs a really strong and knowledgeable parent who will work with her on her leash pulling and her food drive. However, she has shown to be very smart and catches on to phrases and routines quickly. She keeps a clean kennel and really loves to walk and explore, so if you're a walker or hiker, this is your girl. She does wonderfully in playgroup with other dogs but may not do so well with cats. She is very protective of her "hooman" so you will have to be careful of small children around her as well.
Dear Bella has a way of talking to you through her facial expressions and her eyes tell her story. She is an "old soul in a young girl's body", she is lonely and so bored in her kennel with no one to talk to or love her. If you want to give her a chance, please call us asap and set up a meet and greet with this beautiful and fun girl, you won't regret it.

The AWL is here to find the best match possible between adopters and the animals in our care. Keep in mind that a pet’s personality is way more important, and it’s best to try to find a pet that will fit into your lifestyle.

More about this shelter
The Animal Welfare League is a non-profit organization committed to advocating for animal protection and welfare. We are based in Port Charlotte, Florida. Since 1963 our shelter has served the Charlotte County community by providing a temporary home, medical service and caring attention for many dogs, cats and other animals. These animals come to us as strays, pets given up by their owners, unfortunate animals rescued from abuse and neglect, or simply lost pets in need of being re-united with their families.
