My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

For an entire year now, Baloo has been waiting. One full year since he was pulled from the shelter just an hour before euthanasia, and somehow he is still here, still hopeful, still ready for the family who will finally choose him.

Baloo is about 2 years old and truly one of those dogs who just wants to be loved. He is cuddly, affectionate, and happiest when he is close to his people. He is smart and attentive, a great listener who is easy to redirect and eager to please. He loves car rides, enjoys being out and about, and settles beautifully at home for snuggles and sunshine.

Baloo does well with other dogs after a slow and proper introduction. He is not food aggressive and does not beg, which makes him easy to have around. He can live with older kids but may be a bit too strong for very young ones. He is curious about cats, so a cat free home would be the best fit for him.

He is fully vetted, neutered, house trained, and ready to step straight into a forever home. What he truly needs now is someone who will see past the fact that he has been overlooked and recognize the incredible companion standing right in front of them.

Baloo has already beaten the odds once. He just needs someone to believe in him again. After a year of waiting, he is more than ready to finally belong.

Additional adoption info

All of our dogs and cats come spayed/neutered and vaccinated! Some of the pups will only have their first round of shots and may need rabies if they are under 3 months old. But other than that, these babies come ready to go! Our adoption fees vary, please inquire about each dog's individual fees. We do have cats and kittens available from time to time, so please inquire if you are looking for a feline pal! With their vetting, flights and care, we only ask for the adoption donation to help offset costs and make sure our adopters are serious. We love our rescues like we love our family. They mean the world to us and we just want to see them in good loving homes! And please check back as we are always adding new rescues to this page.

More about this rescue

We approach each every situation with an open mind. We work to build respect and trust with the partners, communities and countries we work in. With their acceptance, we build a plan together to meet the most pressing issues. We listen, learn and solve the needs together. We look for solutions that are integrated, scale-able, and sustainable. At Compassion Kind, we work with governments, institutions, local leaders, civil society organizations, foundations and businesses around the world to ensure that the most vulnerable beings are heard, and that they get the assistance they need to sustain from within the communities. Our teams and partners advocate for capacity building training and grass roots techniques so we make a lasting impact, create measurable change and operate as efficiently as possible.
