My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Elektra  — a brave survivor with a heart full of love and light!

At just 1.5 years old and 40 pounds, Elektra (or “Ellie,” as her friends call her) has already faced more hardship than any dog should — yet she’s blossomed into one of the most loving, hopeful souls you’ll ever meet. Found abandoned in a dumpster with her snout and legs cruelly bound, this beautiful girl has overcome the unimaginable and chosen joy. Today, she radiates trust, gratitude, and an endless capacity for love.

 All About Ellie:

  • Smart, eager to please, and quick to learn — she already knows how to “sit”!

  • Fully vetted and house-trained.

  • Playful and social — she loves other dogs and thrives in a friendly pack.

  • Affectionate, people-oriented, and happiest when she’s close to her humans.

  • Bonus fun fact: her favorite snack is broccoli!  She’s as quirky as she is lovable.

 Her Perfect Home:
Ellie would thrive in an active home with another friendly dog or a family that can give her the time, love, and attention she truly deserves. A fenced yard would be a big bonus for this curious, energetic girl who loves to explore and play.

After everything she’s endured, Elektra is so ready for her happy ending — a forever home where kindness, safety, and love finally surround her. Could she be the missing piece to your heart?

Additional adoption info

All of our dogs and cats come spayed/neutered and vaccinated! Some of the pups will only have their first round of shots and may need rabies if they are under 3 months old. But other than that, these babies come ready to go! Our adoption fees vary, please inquire about each dog's individual fees. We do have cats and kittens available from time to time, so please inquire if you are looking for a feline pal! With their vetting, flights and care, we only ask for the adoption donation to help offset costs and make sure our adopters are serious. We love our rescues like we love our family. They mean the world to us and we just want to see them in good loving homes! And please check back as we are always adding new rescues to this page.

More about this rescue

We approach each every situation with an open mind. We work to build respect and trust with the partners, communities and countries we work in. With their acceptance, we build a plan together to meet the most pressing issues. We listen, learn and solve the needs together. We look for solutions that are integrated, scale-able, and sustainable. At Compassion Kind, we work with governments, institutions, local leaders, civil society organizations, foundations and businesses around the world to ensure that the most vulnerable beings are heard, and that they get the assistance they need to sustain from within the communities. Our teams and partners advocate for capacity building training and grass roots techniques so we make a lasting impact, create measurable change and operate as efficiently as possible.
