My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 8 years old

Gender: Male

Breed: Lab mix

Weight: 82 lbs

Personality: Lingo is a sweet, independent boy who enjoys his downtime, often lounging and napping. Once he warms up to you, he’ll let you know when he’s ready for affection, and his love for you will grow with time. Lingo is content playing with his toys and can keep himself entertained for hours. While he’s a little unsure around new people, he’ll thrive with slow, intentional introductions and some additional training around socialization. Lingo is comfortable being left alone at home without a crate and has no separation anxiety. When you return, he’ll greet you with a heartwarming welcome. This mellow guy loves his cozy home and is the perfect companion for those seeking a chill, easy-going pup.

Education: Potty trained and good on leash! doesn't use crate as it is not needed for him.

Favorite Activities: Lounging, napping, hanging out with his human, playing with his toys.

Looking for: Lingo would be the perfect companion for someone looking for a relaxed, independent, and chill dog who loves to hang out. He’s great for a single or couple household where he can offer affection once he warms up to you. Lingo enjoys short walks but isn’t interested in long hikes or intense exercise—he’s more of a laid-back guy. He would thrive in a home with an experienced owner who can help build his trust in the world. In return, Lingo will be your loyal forever buddy. He should be in a home without kids or other pets, as he prefers a calm environment where he can keep his humans company. He’s fine being left alone without a crate, making him a low-maintenance companion.

Adoption Fee: My adoption fee is $150 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
