4 year old Lola is a survivor. She was pregnant and living on the side of a river, and surviving from scraps from a stranger. Eventually a kind stranger managed to get her and her puppies into shelter. Lola is a beautiful Mexican special mix – her pups look like small black labs – she may be a shepherd x terrier x lab mix. She’s her own mix of very special girl. Lola is lower energy, but spins in excitement if you might be so kind to toss her a ball, or when her dinner is ready.

Lola is careful with strangers at first but also VERY affectionate. Lola isn’t keen to go far – she prefers the safety of the sanctuary – perhaps worried she may be dumped again. We screen all applications and require a home check (virtual or in person) prior to placement. We charge a $550 CAD adoption fee. We provide support and check ins post placement, and solicit follow up photos and publish adoptions for our community of adopters / followers

PVCA Animal Rescue is the sister organization of the SPCA Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. We facilitate the transportation and adoption of rescue dogs into loving forever homes. PVCA is a network of volunteers, transporters, and foster homes. Our sister shelter, the SPCA PV rescues, rehabilitates and promote sterilization in the Puerto Vallarta area, with the goal of eliminating the euthanasia of healthy and adoptable animals. The organizations are wholly run through donations and volunteer efforts. The dogs & cats of Mexico are too often found living on the streets after being discarded and/or extremely abused.
