My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Elektra has overcome the unimaginable, and now she’s ready for the love she’s been waiting for her entire life.

This sweet 1.5-year-old, 40-pound pup was found abandoned in a dumpster with her snout and legs cruelly tied with a leash. Despite what she’s endured, Elektra radiates love, trust, and hope. She’s a survivor with a heart of pure gold.

Elektra, affectionately known as Ellie, is bright, eager to please, and quick to learn—she already knows “sit!” She’s fully vetted, house trained, and happiest when she’s close to her people. Ellie is affectionate, social with other dogs, and thrives in a playful pack. One of her favorite snacks is broccoli, which perfectly matches her quirky and endearing personality.

What Elektra needs most now is stability, love, and a forever home to call her own. She would thrive in an active home with another friendly dog or with someone who can give her the time and attention she deserves. A fenced yard would be the cherry on top for her curious and energetic spirit.

Additional adoption info

All of our dogs and cats come spayed/neutered and vaccinated! Some of the pups will only have their first round of shots and may need rabies if they are under 3 months old. But other than that, these babies come ready to go! Our adoption fees vary, please inquire about each dog's individual fees. We do have cats and kittens available from time to time, so please inquire if you are looking for a feline pal! With their vetting, flights and care, we only ask for the adoption donation to help offset costs and make sure our adopters are serious. We love our rescues like we love our family. They mean the world to us and we just want to see them in good loving homes! And please check back as we are always adding new rescues to this page.

More about this rescue

We approach each every situation with an open mind. We work to build respect and trust with the partners, communities and countries we work in. With their acceptance, we build a plan together to meet the most pressing issues. We listen, learn and solve the needs together. We look for solutions that are integrated, scale-able, and sustainable. At Compassion Kind, we work with governments, institutions, local leaders, civil society organizations, foundations and businesses around the world to ensure that the most vulnerable beings are heard, and that they get the assistance they need to sustain from within the communities. Our teams and partners advocate for capacity building training and grass roots techniques so we make a lasting impact, create measurable change and operate as efficiently as possible.
