My story

Forever home wanted, Meet Leo!!!.

Leo entered the shelter system as a stray. Sadly his family never came for him and we can’t understand why. At the shelter Leo was attacked by bigger dogs, then he got a doggie cold and was quickly listed for Euthanasia. When we heard Leo’s story we couldn’t say “no”. Leo’s now fully recovered and rocking a multi-dog foster home.  Leo’s a petite one year old lab mix that loves all people and dogs.  He’s house broken, crate trained, sweet, smart, well socialized, and quite the cuddle bug. Leo does have a slight balance issue that is either genetic or was caused by the dog attack.  But Leo has no idea he is any different from any other dog or puppy.  He runs and plays just like any other young dog his age.  We and our vet think Leo’s condition is a mild form of “Cerebellar Hypoplasia”.  This condition does not cause Leo any pain and it will not get worse over time.  It simply causes Leo to lose his balance on occasion unexpectedly.  Due to his balance issue, Leo is not recommended for a home with a flight of stairs in the interior area of the home or an unfenced pool home.  But he does a good game of chase in the backyard, playing with toys, and snuggling on the couch.  Let’s find this cute nugget a loving forever home! Fill out our online application at www.labradorsandfriends.org. Leo is located in Southern California.
