My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Pea is a beautiful brindle Terrier and Pit Bull mix who is approximately 2-3 years old. She has been a stray dog that we've been caring for since December 28, 2024. Despite her rough start, she has shown herself to be a sweet and gentle soul.

Temperament:

With People: Sweet Pea is friendly towards both familiar and unfamiliar people. She seems eager to please and has a gentle demeanor.

With Other Dogs: She is generally aloof around other dogs and hasn't had much interaction with other species like cats or small mammals.

Behavior: Sweet Pea is quiet and has not shown any aggressive behavior. She can be a bit hard to persuade, but with confident leadership and a loving environment, she is sure to thrive.

Health: Sweet Pea had some skin issues when we found her, but with medication, antibiotics, and anti-fungal baths, she is on the mend and her skin is almost healed. Her bloodwork from the vet came back great!

Special Quirks:

Sweet Pea’s teeth chatter when she is excited.

She loves cuddles and is very quiet, making her a great companion for many different home environments.

She hates cold weather and would benefit from living inside due to her sensitivity.

Training:

House-trained with zero accidents.

Leash walking and crate trained, though she sometimes resists going into the crate.

Needs more exposure and training as she gets acclimated to new experiences like car rides, stairs, and baths.

She enjoys relaxing, cuddling, and seeks affection throughout the day.

Feeding schedule is 8 AM, noon, and 5 PM, with plans to reduce to 2 meals a day as she reaches a healthier weight.

Ideal Home: Sweet Pea would thrive in a home where she can live inside and be part of the family. She may do well with a confident dog to help her adjust to new experiences. She needs a family who can dedicate time to her training and offer her a loving environment.
