Meet Sage. She is a 1.5 year old, female, Lab mixed breed. She recently went into an amazing foster home but is still looking for a forever home. *Please note: Sage is available by appointment only. Please call (401) 467-3670 or email HeartofRIadoption@gmail.com to schedule a time to meet her.* Sage can appear nervous around new people or when she is at the rescue but she is a COMPLETELY different dog when she isn't here. Once she is in a quiet, safe, familiar space you will quickly see her playful personality and full potential. She is affectionate, very smart, and eager to please. She gets along with other dogs AND cats, is crate trained, knows several commands, and walks well on a leash. What more could you want?! Her ideal family would have a fully fenced in yard so she can play and explore safely and another pup that could continue to show her the ropes and work on her confidence. She is happiest when she has a canine buddy to zoom around the yard with or curl up next to after playtime. Sage is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed.

HOW TO GO ABOUT ADOPTING:
1. Come in during adoption hours to apply and fill out an application completely. We have applications on site. Open adoption hours take place at 44 Worthington Road in Cranston, RI. We are open every Wednesday 3-7pm and Saturday 10am-2pm.
2. We require proof of homeownership (tax form, deed, mortgage statement) or landlord approval (a copy of your lease that clearly states you are allowed to have a dog, puppy, cat, or kitten OR written and signed consent from your landlord.
3. We require copies of up to date vet records for any current pets.

Helpful reminders:
*We do not do same day adoptions.
*Please bring the entire family in to meet the animal you are interested in.
*We will setup a meet and greet with your dog at a later date. PLEASE do not bring your dog with you when you come in to apply.
