My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Marshmallow is a standard poodle puppy born 9/15/24 . He is a spirited little guy who will start out a bit shy. He was born in a commercial breeding facility and dogs not have the same puppy experiences a dog might have that was born in your home. He wasn't exposed to the same things at an early age. That being said, he is learning and adjusting well now that he is with us but he will need a patient family to go slowly and let him gain his trust.. He will blossom with time and patience.

Marshmallow needs a home with a secure fenced in yard for his potty place, He is not a dog for an apartment or condo setting. He will do best in a home with another dog buddy to show him the ropes and give him confidence, Dogs born in commercial breeding facilities understand dogs better than people, An respectful adult dog will give him a lead to follow, He loves to play with his mate. He will need house training and regular training like any puppy would.

Like all puppies, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all puppies—not only to give Marshmallow important learning skills, but because you and your puppy will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together.

Marshmallow is fully vetted. He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption donation is $1200.00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Marshmallow wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse!

IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a very flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you.

Additional adoption info

To adopt any animal from Rescue Tails we require a completed and verified adoption application. Once we can review the application, we can set up a meet and greet. We ask that all members of the household including pets are available for us and prospective pet to meet. Providing that goes well, we will set an appointment with you for a home visit. If all goes well we can proceed to the final step of finalizing the adoption.

More about this rescue

Rescue Tails Animal Welfare is dedicated to rehoming pets from high kill shelters. We choose an animal one at a time and evaluate what issues caused the animal to end up in the shelter and address those issues. Most often we find behavioral issues and/or medical issues . We deal with whatever it is to the best of our ability and then place the pet up for adoption to a responsible pet guardian. It is our goal to prevent the pet from returning to the system again. We work with the pets and carefully match them to their forever homes.
