My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Rawlf was brought in by a community member.

Why Rawlf might be the one for you:
Meet Rawlf! This cheerful guy has a lot of love to give. While he can be a tad shy at first, he warms up very quickly and loves to snuggle. He was in a foster home where his foster described him as being "such a good dog" who is a cuddle bug and greets people with tapping feet. It is all very cute. Rawlf wants pets all over and he will lean in to you to get more of them. Even better than body pets, he loves ear rubs. We don't know what that is about, but his ears are soft and it is comforting to rub them and funny to watch him respond with odd grunts of appreciation. Rawlf is very food motivated which makes learning tricks a breeze! Some of his favorite things are playing with toys, cuddling with his caregivers and lounging in his bed. Other dogs are not his favorite thing and he will prefer being the only dog in the household. Actually, he wants to be the only pet in the house. Do you mind? If you'd like to meet this sweet boy, fill out the interest form above!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
