He is affectionate and enjoys leaning in for full-body pets and cuddles. His excitement can sometimes get the best of him, so he will benefit from ongoing positive reinforcement training and opportunities to channel his energy into positive outlets. He may do best as the only dog in your home so he can soak up all your love and attention. With guidance and structure, Duke will be a joyful and loving companion!

Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County.
