My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Krampus (aka Shadow) – Your Dog-Shaped Weighted Blanket

Don’t let the name fool you—Krampus is 60 pounds of pure love and snuggles. This 1.5-year-old pit mix is a total sweetheart who’s earned the nickname “Shadow” because he sticks close to his people and loves nothing more than being your constant companion. Think of him as your very own dog-shaped weighted blanket—calming, comforting, and always ready for a cuddle.

Krampus is house-trained, crate-trained, and well-mannered in the home. He enjoys walks and does great on leash, unless a squirrel, rabbit, or bird dares to cross his path—then his playful side kicks in! He gets the zoomies now and then, and it’s guaranteed to make you laugh.

He’s looking for a home without small children, where his loving nature and goofy personality can shine. Whether he’s snuggling on the couch or trotting beside you, Krampus is a loyal, affectionate companion who’s happiest when he’s near his person.

If you’re looking for a snuggle bug with a big heart and even bigger cuddle skills, Krampus is your guy.

Apply today to meet Krampus—your new best friend and live-in cuddle pro!

Additional adoption info

For our dogs, we are a foster-based organization that primarily helps our county government-operated shelter with surrender diversion, i.e. owners rehoming pets, help with behavior issues, etc. In September 2023 we opened a cat adoption center that supports the effort to keep more cats out of the shelter.
