Meet Meeka a 6-year-old 40 pound female Bull Terrier.
Meeka came to us as an owner surrender. She was no longer being cared for adequately and lived most of her day and sometimes all day in her crate. Her owner loved her, but realized that he could no longer care for her properly. Although she was happy at her previous home, it was decided she needed to be rehomed where she could get the care and medical that she needed.
She would thrive with an active family that has a fenced in yard to keep her safe. She did escape from her original owner before by slipping her collar and taking off and since she is naturally curious and has a high prey drive, it would be best for a proper fence for her.
Although she does get along with the other dogs in the home, she would be happier as an only dog where she can get all the attention from her humans! She has a high prey drive for the kitties, so absolutely no cats!
As is typical of her breed, Meeka is a total goofball. She has spunky spurts of energy and is playful most of the time. She loves to sploot and stare lovingly into your eyes, making everyone smile and melt for her. She is very smart and curious, but also well mannered in response to basic commands most of the time!
She is crate trained, and does well when walked on a harness and leash. She is still settling back into being able to play outside with people and other pets, but does enjoy the warm weather and being with her people outside!
She is very social when meeting new people… she is not nervous at all and will do her trademark sploot, wagging her tail waiting for pets.
Meeka is the kind of soul dog who is just waiting patiently to thrive with her soul person. She can be high energy, but also has no problem laying with her humans for a solid pet session. She just loves to be loved on!
She has mastered “no” and “off”.
She does live with young children in the home and has been very friendly with all of them, but being a bully, they can be brutes sometimes so her foster does keep her eye on her around the children to be sure she doesn’t get too rough and accidentally run into them.
Meeka is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations and is on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
Her adoption fee is $350
