Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Poppy: Your Future Furry Friend
Poppy is an adorable 4-year-old Catahoula and Terrier mix, weighing in at a perfect 37 pounds. She was saved from euthanasia one year ago, along with 55 other dogs, and is now thriving and ready to find her forever home. Let's learn a bit more about this wonderful pup and why she might be the perfect addition to your family.

Poppy is a friendly and affectionate dog who loves spending time with people. She has a social nature, which makes her a great companion for families or individuals looking for a loyal friend. Her active and attentive demeanor means she'll be right by your side, ready for any adventure you plan.

Training and Behavior
Poppy is both leash and crate trained, making her an easy addition to your household. These skills ensure she can adapt smoothly to a new environment. Her training also means that she’s well-behaved on walks and can comfortably spend time in a crate when needed.

Compatibility with Other Pets
Poppy gets along well with other dogs, which makes her a great choice if you already have canine companions at home. Her friendly nature ensures she can socialize and play nicely with her fellow furry friends.

Ready for Adoption
Poppy is fully vetted and ready for her forever home. Her current home at Barking Mad Animal Rescue has provided her with all necessary medical care, ensuring she is healthy and happy. Now, she’s just waiting for someone to give her the love and attention she deserves.

More about this rescue

BMAR is a No-Kill facility: a place of safety for healthy adoptable animals, a home for the homeless, a haven for the mistreated, neglected, or abused animals of Sabine & surrounding counties. BMAR also runs a sanctuary for those deemed unadoptible due to medical and behavior issues.

100% Volunteer Rescue. We have no animal control, Humane Society, or SPCA operating in our area leaving animals in dire straights.

BMAR is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty & abuse to all animals & livestock.

We currently only adopt to states and Canada where we have a network in place to monitor animals and help with problems.

BMAR backs it's dogs for life and will take back no matter how long and at any time if circumstance arise and you cannot keep your pet.
