My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Like the metal, Copper shines bright with warmth, charm, and beauty! This handsome retriever and Black Mouth Cur.

At heart, Copper is a total sweetheart. He is house-trained, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and great with children! He is also crate-trained and walks beautifully on a leash. With a sensitive heart and a love for learning, Copper thrives on gentle guidance and cuddles! He would do best in a cat-free environment but with people? He is all in! Copper actually did fine with our cats but our ccats are dog friendly....they don't run!

With a copper coat and a heart of pure gold, he is ready to fill your life with love and joy!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We have a simple contract ensuring that our rescue will be well taken care of, medically and physically, will never be tied or chained, and that a secure fenced area is provided for outdoor play. We want for each a loving home and to become part of a family. Every animal is up to date on shots and spay/neuter is required.

Go meet their pets

We are open 7 days a week by appointment. Weekends are preferred. Come see our waggin' tails and happy faces on 22 acres with large runs and a 5 acre play area. Email to ask for directions and to make an appt.

More about this shelter

We started rescuing dogs in 2001 and became a non profit animal rescue in 2006 out of the sheer need to save animals from the streets, and pick up the ones dropped at our doorstep. We promote spay/neuter, and last year found forever homes for 129 animals from our location, and adopted over 400 through off site adoption..
