My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I’m Ocean, a 3-year-old fawn and white explorer with a heart full of joy and paws made for the trail!

I’m all about adventure. Hiking? Yes, please! Exploring new trails, sniffing all the things, and soaking up the sunshine; it’s my idea of the perfect day. I may be a tiny bit shy when we first meet, but don’t worry, I warm up faster than you can lace up your hiking boots. Once I know you’re my person, I’m all in.

I’m the kind of dog who loves to be on the move, but I also know when to stop and enjoy the moment... especially if it involves treats, belly rubs, or a good cuddle after a long walk!

If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick to join you on every trail, every beach day, and every new adventure life has to offer, I’m your girl. Let’s chase sunsets, climb mountains, and make every day an adventure.

More about this shelter

The Oahu SPCA was founded in April of 2009 and launched its mission, "Every healthy, treatable animal will find a forever home." The overwhelming support of community members was instrumental in helping to establish the first animal shelter in the state of Hawaii with a "no-kill philosophy." On July 18, 2009, 432 animals were relinquished to the Oahu SPCA the Largest Animal Rescue in the history of Hawaii. The Oahu SPCA rescued all 432 animals in 48 hours after the owner of an animal sanctuary in Waianae passes away.
