My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I’m Luna, your future adventure buddy and professional tail-wagger!

I’m a 9-month-old terrier mix with striking black and white fur and the cool, confident looks of a short-haired husky (yep, people tell me that all the time!). But don’t let my sleek style fool you, I’m a total sweetheart who’s just as excited about belly rubs as I am about exploring the world.

I’m super friendly and love meeting new people (and pups!), but I’m still figuring out this whole “leash walking” thing. I’ve got the energy and the heart, I just need a patient human to help guide me with kindness and maybe a treat or two... okay, maybe three.

I’m in that perfect in-between stage, past the tiny puppy chaos, but still young enough to be silly, fun, and ready to learn. Whether we’re out on hikes or cuddled up after a long day, I just want to be by your side.

So what do you say... ready to make room for a little moonlight in your life?

More about this shelter

The Oahu SPCA was founded in April of 2009 and launched its mission, "Every healthy, treatable animal will find a forever home." The overwhelming support of community members was instrumental in helping to establish the first animal shelter in the state of Hawaii with a "no-kill philosophy." On July 18, 2009, 432 animals were relinquished to the Oahu SPCA the Largest Animal Rescue in the history of Hawaii. The Oahu SPCA rescued all 432 animals in 48 hours after the owner of an animal sanctuary in Waianae passes away.
