Here's what the humans have to say about me:
🐾 Ricky, our 6-Year-Old Treeing Walker Coonhound! 🐾 📣 Looking for His Perfect, Experienced Home
On December 12, Ricky will have been in and out of our shelter for FIVE years. 🎅💔
This sweet boy has spent almost his entire life waiting for someone to choose him—and we’re hoping this Christmas will finally be the one where his forever family finds him.
This handsome hound is searching for a forever family who understands his needs and will help him thrive. At 6 years old, he’s a great mix of playful energy and loyal companionship.
❤️ About Him: • Male Treeing Walker Coonhound with tons of personality • Loves to play with other dogs and would enjoy a compatible canine friend • Big fan of outdoor adventures, sniffing, and exploring • Affectionate with his people and eager to bond • Neutered, healthy, and ready to meet the right family
⚠️ Important Needs: • Has shown resource guarding, so he needs an adopter comfortable managing this with structure and awareness • No cats — he’s much too interested in them • Kids must be 15+ to ensure a calm, predictable environment for him
This boy will make an amazing companion for someone who appreciates hounds, understands his boundaries, and can give him the safe, loving home he deserves. 🏡💛
If you think you may be his perfect match, or know someone who might be, please reach out! 📩 Message us to learn more or schedule a meet-and-greet.
