Kage is a 2-year-old female kitty with a striking black and white coat, and a heart as big as her ninja spirit. Like her name, which means "shadow" in Japanese, Kage has quietly been in foster care for most of her life, watching over her surroundings with keen eyes and a calm demeanor. She loves to snuggle and play, always ready for a cozy cuddle or a fun play session with her human or adult feline companions. While she’s not as fond of being around kittens, Kage is a true protector and prefers the company of those who appreciate her wise, tranquil presence. Much like the most powerful ninja who oversees the activities of their village, Kage is strong, independent, and brings a sense of peace and balance wherever she goes. DOGS & CATS: Unless otherwise noted, they are compatible with calm dogs who are cat-friendly. They are also compatible with cat-friendly cats with similar energy levels. If interested in a cat/kitten with a higher energy level than your current cat, adopting a bonded pair is recommended to avoid upsetting your cat. Slow introduction to new dogs and cats, according to the Jackson Galaxy method, is important to ensure they get along. FLUFFY KITTIES: Adopters must have experience grooming long hair cats or be willing to take a quick class on YouTube about grooming long hair cats. TRANSPORT DETAILS: Kittens younger than 16 weeks: adopters can fly to Austin or San Antonio airports for pickup. Texas: cats over 14 weeks can travel along 1-35 or within 4 hours of San Antonio with a rescue partner for a small donation. Out of state: for cats over 14 weeks old, transport is available to most of the Southern states, plus CT, NY, PA, ME, NJ and a few other states for $175 per crate. If they get along and space permits, up to 2 cats or 4 kittens can share a crate, and cost will be split amongst adopters. Out of state transport must have an Interstate Health Certificate by a qualified veterinarian for $85.
