My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Martha: From `Wild Thing` to `Wanna Be Couch Potato`! Prepare yourselves for a tale of transformation, tiny triumphs, and one very special lady named Martha.
When Martha first graced us with her presence, she was what you might call an `outdoor enthusiast` – a free spirit who viewed four walls and human affection with the same skepticism one might reserve for a self-stirring coffee mug. Life as an indoor dog. Getting pets from a giant, upright creature? It was all new, confusing, and frankly, a bit much for our adventurous girl. Think Indiana Jones, but instead of ancient artifacts, she was dodging cuddles.
Fast forward a few weeks, and Martha`s been putting in some serious work! Our incredible staff has been her personal hype squad, slowly introducing her to the wonders of indoor living. She`s been crushing her socialization with other pups (she`s a total dog-friendly superstar, by the way!), proving she`s basically the queen of canine charisma. We`re talking baby steps, gentle encouragement, and maybe a few whispered promises of future belly rubs.
Now, Martha is still a bit of a wallflower, a sensitive soul who prefers quiet whispers to rock concerts. The shelter, bless its bustling heart, can be a bit much for her tender nerves. That`s why we`re reaching out to our fantastic community with a heartfelt plea: Martha needs her low-traffic, low-noise, high-love paradise!
Could YOU be Martha`s MVP (Most Valuable Paw-rent)?
We truly believe that in a calm, stable home, Martha will absolutely blossom into the magnificent, snuggle-loving, semi-wild-but-mostly-domesticated doggo she`s destined to be! Imagine lazy afternoons, quiet walks, and the pure joy of watching a brave adventurer discover the magic of a soft bed. (Spoiler alert: it’s life-changing!)
Here`s how you can help Martha find her forever zen zone:
Foster: Can you open your quiet home temporarily and show Martha the ropes of comfy indoor living? This would be a game-changer for her!
Adopt: Are you ready to commit to a sweet, shy girl who just needs a little extra patience and a whole lot of love to truly shine?
If you have a quiet home, a gentle heart, and a penchant for transforming timid souls into confident companions, please reach out! Martha is ready to trade her `wild child` ways for a life of calm companionship.
Don`t let her quiet nature fool you – Martha`s potential for love is HUGE!

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is simple. If you are interested in one of our wonderful animals, come meet them. You will talk with one of our shelter attendants to assess the right fit for your family. The adoption fee for dogs is $40 and $25 for cats. If the animal you are interested in has not yet been spayed or neutered, we will get the pet altered before you take him or her home. If the animal is too young or you have come a long way to pick him or her up, you can pay a Spay/Neuter deposit, which will be refunded once the required paperwork has been submitted to our admin office by the deadline date.
