My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Marie Antoinette – The Regal Princess!

Inspired by her majestic long gray fur and striking green eyes, Marie Antoinette boasts a royal namesake. Marie Antoinette is one half of a dynamic duo with her brother, Alexander the Grey. While her brother may be the spirited chaser, Marie is the one who often starts the playful wrestling and chasing matches. Although she may be a bit shy at first, her feisty attitude quickly shines through.

Her Story: Marie’s story is as heartwarming as it is heroic. Her feral mama and her kittens were found in the aftermath of a dog attack. In a remarkable act of trust, her mama entrusted two human rescuers to help protect her babies. Although Marie was injured during that ordeal, she healed remarkably quickly, emerging as the spirited kitten she is today.

What Makes Marie Special:

Gentle Beginnings: Although reserved and slow to warm up, Marie will reward gentle, patient pets with quiet affection.

Playful Spirit: Once comfortable, she loves engaging with other kittens, wrestling during playtime, and chasing teaser toys.

A Dash of Attitude: Marie isn’t shy about letting you know what she thinks—with her unfiltered charm, she brings personality and character to every interaction.

Royal Leisure: She even enjoys the simple pleasure of watching Cat TV, a perfect way to unwind after a burst of playful energy.

Ideal Home:

A loving family who appreciates a kitten with a bit of sass, independence and a regal presence.
A calm and patient environment to help her continue growing into her confident self
A loving family that enjoys interactive play and understands the bond between siblings
Marie Antoinette is a very social kitten, and would love to be adopted with one or both of her brothers, Alexander the Grey, and Sylvester, or any of her foster siblings! She will also do well a home with other friendly cats/kittens.

If you’re ready to welcome a kitten who blends royal elegance with a playful, opinionated charm, Marie Antoinette is eagerly waiting for her forever home.

Additional adoption info

We adopt animals to homes in the Los Angeles area and neighboring counties.

To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, committed homes, we have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from Kitten Rescue. We reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary. First, we ask that you complete our Adoption Questionnaire at kittenrescue.org/cat-adoption-form/. You can complete the form online or you may stop by a weekly adoption event to complete form in person. Second, a home visit or a home delivery of the cat or kitten is also required as part of our adoption process.

The Kitten Rescue adoption fee is $150 for a kitten or cat up to 10 years old, and $100 for each additional kitten or cat to the same household ($250 if you adopt a pair). Cats above 10 years old have a fee reduction of 50%, for an adoption fee of $75 each.

All of our cats have already been:
Spayed or neutered
Vaccinated – with at least one FVRCP vaccination
Treated for fleas
Dewormed
Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
Microchipped

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
