Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kona is looking for someone with lots of patience and lots of love to give him! Before he was brought to us Kona was found living in the woods and eventually the house he was living under had caught fire. He can be pretty shy at first, but after he becomes comfortable he's a total lover! He's still learning that not all people are scary (who can blame him?). Kona likes to be around other cats and will gladly share his food, toys and bed with them. Playtime with toys on sticks especially if they're strings dangling on the end is his favorite! If he let's you pet & scratch him behind his ears and he will purr with delight. Stop by the shelter anytime we are open to meet Kona!

Cats over 4 months -- $75 for one, $100 for two
Puppies under 4 months -- $300
Dogs over 4 months-- $100, $150 for two
Rabbits -- $50 for one, $80 for two
Guinea Pigs -- $15 for one, $25 for two
Rats, Mice, and Hamsters - $8.00 for one, $2 for any additional

The main caregiver and an adult in the family are required to be present and meet the animal to adopt. An application and signed contract is required, and homeownership or verification from a landlord that the pet is allowed is required. Dog adoptions require an introduction to all members of the family as well as any existing dogs.

Furry Friends seeks to assist all animals in need through a variety of programs. We are a group of passionate people who have created the first no- kill community in Iowa and hope to spread the no-kill mission through the rest of Iowa.
