Smokey is a handsome black-and-white gentleman with a calm presence and a big heart. He’s living with diabetes and does great with a consistent routine and proper care. Smokey takes his medical needs in stride and is a champ about his daily care—he’s looking for a home with someone who can keep him on a regular schedule and give him the love he deserves.

Smokey enjoys quiet companionship, cozy spots to relax, and gentle affection once he feels comfortable. He may take a little time to settle in, but his sweet personality shines through as trust is built.

Kittens under 4 months -- $100 for one, $150 for two
Cats over 4 months -- $75 for one, $100 for two
Puppies under 4 months -- $300
Dogs over 4 months-- $100, $150 for two
Rabbits -- $50 for one, $80 for two
Guinea Pigs -- $15 for one, $25 for two
Rats, Mice, and Hamsters - $8.00 for one, $2 for any additional

The main caregiver and an adult in the family are required to be present and meet the animal to adopt. An application and signed contract is required, and homeownership or verification from a landlord that the pet is allowed is required. Dog adoptions require an introduction to all members of the family as well as any existing dogs.

Furry Friends seeks to assist all animals in need through a variety of programs. We are a group of passionate people who have created the first no- kill community in Iowa and hope to spread the no-kill mission through the rest of Iowa.
