At 10 years old, Big Mac is a gentle soul with a big heart and an even bigger capacity for love. This sweet senior pitbull came to us from CACC, and he’s more than ready to leave shelter life behind for good.
Big Mac has clearly lived a life full of stories—some of them hard—but he’s not letting that hold him back. He’s soaking up every bit of kindness and comfort we give him, and he’s patiently waiting for that special someone who will see the beauty in giving a senior dog a second chance.
He does have a mass that will need to be monitored, but he’s feeling good and has so much love left to give. Big Mac is calm, affectionate, and would thrive in a quiet home where he can rest easy and be treated like the loyal companion he is.
Give this good boy the golden years he deserves. Big Mac is ready to be someone’s everything. ❤️🏡

Border Tails Rescue is a licensed no-kill animal rescue and welfare organization dedicated to the rescue and adoption of stray dogs across the world, with a unique focus on Mexico. Border Tails Rescue has a physical shelter facility with dogs on site for viewing everyday. Border Tails Rescue primarily works with rural shelters across the country, including but not limited to TX, AR, AL, LA, KY, IN, and MI on a regular basis as well as CACC, Chicago’s open intake shelter. BTR is Woman-founded by Harleigh Garcia, who was 20 years old at the time. The organization was founded in December of 2019 and Border Tails Rescue is registered with Illinois Secretary of State as a non profit organization. Border Tails Rescue operates entirely on donations and adoption fees.
