This beautiful Shep/Lab was surrendered to The REAL Bark when his owner could not afford to have his very large sock removed from his belly - apparently the second eating occurrence as a puppy!! This life-saving surgery gave Nike a new lease on life.
Now almost one year old Nike has blossomed into a very magical pup - full of vibrant personality. He is smart, a fast learner, eager to please, yet very curious and loves life. Nike is practicing his basic commands, is fully house trained and crate trained, and walks great on leash especially with another dog companion to venture out with. He has been spending time in a special training camp with other fun loving dogs, and is very playful and does very well listening to a good effective leader. He is a working dog and would do well in a home with a large secure yard with a few jobs. His best home would be very active, lots of walks and hikes and adventures, with people who understand being a good pack leader to a large active and curious dog. He would also do well with another medium to large dog who would be happy to be around a playful brother.

They are then fostered by one of our experienced foster volunteers, who are able to assess temperament and personality and begin any necessary training. An adoption application, adoption fee, and home check are required for adoption.

It is a crucial piece of the rescue process, and you can play a huge part in saving a dog's life, all the while deciding if that dog, or any dog, is the right fit for your lifestyle!
