My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pearl – A Loyal Heart Ready for a Fresh Start
Birthday: March 21, 2022 | Female | 25 lbs | Mixed Breed

Pearl’s journey is one of quiet resilience and new beginnings. She came from a home overwhelmed with 48 dogs, part of a larger rescue and spay/neuter mission. When she arrived, she was underweight and shy—but soon surprised us all by giving birth to a single precious puppy.

Now that her motherhood chapter is behind her, Pearl is blossoming into her own. Born on the first day of spring, she truly symbolizes a fresh start. She’s gained healthy weight (a perfect 25 lbs!) and adapted beautifully to her foster home, living peacefully with other dogs, a cat, and a rotating crew of foster pups. Pearl thrives in a calm environment with routine, and her loyalty runs deep.

Pearl’s favorite activity? Chasing a tennis ball—it’s her absolute joy! She also knows when it’s time to settle, walking calmly into her kennel when asked. She’s learning to trust new people and is slowly opening her heart to love and attention, leaving her past behind with quiet grace.

Due to a tear duct injury caused by a sibling, Pearl has dry eye syndrome in her left eye. It’s easily managed with lubricating eye drops 2–3 times a day, and she handles it like a champ.

Pearl is ready for a life filled with love, patience, and play. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion who will be your shadow and your biggest fan, Pearl might just be your perfect match.

More about this rescue

Camp Companion is a 501c3 organization established in 2003.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.

Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.

Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
